Are you interested in helping steward the Starr King Open Space? Two (2) positions on the Starr King Open Space (SKOS) Board are opening up this spring! The SKOS Board manages, protects, and preserves the Open Space as a wildlife and biodiversity haven for current and future generations to enjoy. It’s made up of local community members, and we’d love for you to join us! To let us know you’re interested in joining the Board, please fill out this very short survey HERE.
Our upcoming election will be on May 16, 2022, and held at Starr King Elementary School in the cafeteria (1215 Carolina Street, San Francisco CA 94107). If you’re a Board candidate, please be prepared to speak briefly about yourself, your interests, and why you want to join the Board. Our elections are completely open to the public, who may also vote on the next Board members. Even if you’re not a candidate, we welcome you to come vote!
Additionally, our Open Space Volunteer Day is this Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 9:30am – 12:30pm! Current SKOS Board members will be there and we’re happy to answer any questions you might have about being on the Starr King Open Space (SKOS) Board. We’d love to chat with you! Look for us in the gray t-shirts with orange poppies on them. As usual, meet by the big wooden chair for bagels and coffee. Volunteer tasks will be weeding, mowing, watering, and trash pickup.
