You may recognize our newest board member from our monthly volunteer days, where you often see him helping out in every way imaginable. So who is Matt Nessier? We’ll let him tell you in his own words.
I am excited to join the SKOS board to help continue the great work that the current and previous board members & volunteers have accomplished. My family has benefited from living near the space and enjoying it regularly in many ways and I look forward to being able to give back so that other Potrero residents can continue to enjoy this awesome space.
My kids are growing up on the space and love everything about it–participating in the work days and wildflower walks, playing on the swing and mostly running around enjoying wild space which is so important for our urban kids (and adults!). The highlight for my wife and me is the opportunity to connect with friends and neighbors at the annual SKOS Sunset Piano Block Party.
After living in San Francisco for more than 20 years and in Potrero Hill for more than 10 years, I am thrilled to be able to contribute to the protection and maintenance of this beautiful open space.
Matt takes over the remaining term of long-time board member Erika Kuempel, who recently moved out of San Francisco. Please join us in welcoming Matt to the SKOS board!
