Starr
Some 150 different plants grow in Starr King Open Space. – and more than twenty of the 150 plants are the gorgeous wildflowers that make California’s wildlands such a special springtime treat. The Land Stewardship Committee of the Board of Directors leads annual Wildflower Walks and invites you to take part!
These walks are held in March, April and May every year in commemoration of 25 years of ecological restoration and observation of our wildflowers which are delicately beautiful yet hardy enough to survive in our serpentine grassland soil.
The first walk was this morning, March 27.
The next 2011 walks will be held:
Sunday, April 17
Sunday, May 15
Walks will begin at 11am and last approximately 1 hour. Meet on Carolina at Coral loop across from Starr King Elementary.
